Notice regarding traffic on The Avenue

Local residents have made the Trust aware of an increase in construction traffic on The Avenue, leading onto the A34.

UHNM has been in contact with our contractors at the Grindley Hill Court site, who cannot confirm without vehicle registration that such traffic is related to the construction of the new car park. There is currently a number of significant construction projects taking place in the local area which likely explains the spike in traffic along this road.

We do however understand residents’ concerns and have now reviewed the vehicle routes with the Contractor. Unfortunately, due to the layout of Hilton Road - which forces vehicles leaving Grindley Hill Court to turn left to reach the A34 in the shortest and least disruptive route - contractors will still use The Avenue. The Contractor has however reduced the number of vehicles travelling to the site and furthermore, residents can be assured that the existing levels of traffic from Grindley Hill Court will significantly reduce in six weeks’ time, once the current stage of works are completed.
